I believe President Bush has done tremendous damage to the American physic. However, let’s not go crazy and elect someone to the Whitehouse that has no real track record, is a virtual unknown, is sketchy on specifics and has possible racist views (based on known associations).
What do we really know about Barrack Obama?
He gives great speeches. Well guess what? So did Hitler. He inspired too.
He wants change. Change what? Who knows!
He has close associations with individuals that have publicly expressed racial views.
Michelle Obama: “This is the first time I’m really proud to be an American.”
Barrack Obama's pastor of many years spurts racial comments from the pulpit. Mr. Obama supposedly was never in the congregation when these comments were made. Not really believable since according to Mr. Obama, he is a devout Christian and has attended this church for many years. Mr. Obama denied ever hearing his African American pastor make racial comments, however he publically attributed such conduct to his white grandmother. Mr. Obama later stated that if his pastor had not retired he would consider leaving this particular church. Sounds like back paddling, speaking out of both sides of the mouth.
He has a health care plan. Coverage is not mandatory for everyone. Such a plan is doomed to fail from the start. If it’s not mandatory, there will still be uninsured people. As long as there are uninsured people there will be cost shifting and health care costs will continue to rise. I’m not a great fan of health care plans built on our current employer based system, however Mr. Obama’s plan definitely won’t suffice.
Do us all a favor, vote for Hillary. She has what it takes to undue some of the damage caused by the Bush administration and to get us back on the right track.

Several month ago the approval of a vaccine to prevent HPV infection was all over the daily news broadcasts. HPV infection is sexually transmitted and is responsible for 70% of cervical cancer cases. Every year thousands of women are diagnosed and treated for this deadly cancer. Early detection, thanks to annual screenings, have had a large impact on the mortality rate, however many women still die from this deadly disease. The new vaccine was the first designed specifically to prevent a cancer. The CDC recommends making vaccination mandatory for females ages 10-12.
When news of the new vaccine and the CDC recommendation hit the airways, there was a moral outcry from the conservative right strongly opposing any regulation that mandates vaccination. Since HPV is known to be sexually transmitted, religious and/or conservative spokesman are taking a public stance against vaccination. It is their stated belief that vaccinating 10-12 year old females signifies endorsing sexual activity and will encourage them to become sexually active. Personally, I find such thinking reprehensible. These misguided self-righteous people would rather see their daughters succumb to this deadly cancer then to have an open discussion with them about the facts of life.
A recent study revealed that HPV infection is more widespread as previously thought. According to Reuters, health officials found that the sexually-transmitted virus infects 26.8 percent of American females between the ages of 14 and 59. The rate of infection translates to a total of 24.9 million females. In some age groups the infection rate is almost 50%. You can read the entire Reuters article here.
